Our story The Bravest No covers how Linkin Park almost never happened; the album that came out of it is Hybrid Theory (October 24, 2000), the comeback is From Zero (November 15, 2024), and the book to read next is It Starts with One by Jason Lipshutz (October 1, 2024).

What the story covers

In The Bravest No we trace four close calls before the band took off: losing its first singer after a bad showcase, auditioning singers while Chester Bennington waited in the room, more than 40 showcases and three rejections from Warner Bros., and a label offer to Chester alone, which he turned down by telling the band. This page collects the records and the book that connect to it.

How we pick what to link

We only link a specific listing when it passes automatic checks: the right artist, album and format, in stock, and strong customer feedback from a large number of buyers. If nothing passes, the link goes to an Amazon search instead and we say so in our notes. We do not show prices or star ratings on this site because they change by the hour. Check the current price before you buy.
